Please help: HTC One M8 encryption issue

Hi there all, i have had my HTC One M8 encrypted for 3 years, however was unaware that you can not uncrypt the files once done. I still have the phone and passwords but am unable to transfer my thousands of pictures to my laptop( including those of my twins growing up. any help would be very much appreciated. Thankyou
