Please Help Me Not Hate My Galaxy Tab

I am very happy with my Sammy 10.1. I don't root, clock or kernal, but I certainly respect those that do. So if you can, since you evidently work in the industry - dump it and forget it. Move forward! My wife has an ipad2 and loves my Pad and I am fond of her tab also. We grab each others tab regularly when we are traveling.:)

I'd be curious to see if installing a 3rd party launchers like Launcher Pro or ADW Ex would clear up your homescreen lag. I don't own a tablet yet but have been doing my research as I pick between the tab 10.1, asus transformer, or iPad 2. I really want to go android as well but homescreen lag is a no go for me. Can you try a 3rd party launchers and let us know if it makes anything more manageable?
yea I gave laucher pro a try it performed better than the stock launcher but the icon are tiny it's not tablet optimized at all. But I personally couldn't do it.

Everyone's free to speculate, of course, but I can sure sound a lot like that OP'er, that's why I recognize it. He's still selling them! He's just wanting it to be all it can be, now! Like he said, he doesn't even start threads...so it would be pretty odd to start one like this for the sole purpose of bashing the Tab. And to take that much length to do it, in detail. Usual rants/bashes look like: The Tab sucks because the iPud's so much better....yada yada. And there's not much to be gained by just raining fire on him and telling him to move on when we can all work together to help make the thing better, which is the real problem.
Thank you for your open minded post (not to say others were not) but you seem to have digested all of what my OP said and not just some of it.

Seems like most of this is getting sorted out...

I was on ebay and spent like $4 on some el cheapo capacitive styli. They made a big difference controlling a remote PC (controls are soooo tiny in Windows) and sketching in the amazing Adobe Sketchbook. And they are also really nice for positioning cursors without getting too frustrated.

I feel the same way as the OP. I have been waiting for a decent Android tablet to come along so I could replace my iPad and I had high hopes for the 10.1, but, at least for me, it is still so far behind. I am very unimpressed with the tablet app selection. I can't find a decent app to take handwritten notes at work. No developer seems to have created widgets for their apps that take advantage of a larger screen. And the browser just doesn't match that of my iPad. And it just more lag on the tab then should be there with what I am running on it. Even the battery life is not very good.

I haven't played with an iPad 2, but Dolphin browser on my Xoom compares very favorably to Safari on my wife's original iPad.

Thanks. I'll give that a try to see if it makes a difference. If not I still have some time left to return the Tab and wait for the next best choice.

Not for nothing, but I lost interest in your book of a post 1/4 why in....Go to apple and be a fanboy of theirs.
You'll soon find out that the are all the same...listen not everyone has a good experience...however I put it on the user inability to follow tech instructions...

I am sure that it is posts like these that drive people away from this site to a more friendly and useful forum. Thanks.

Some of them we can happily say, "Don't let the door hit you on the way out..." But sad to say, it's the good folk who always leave while the jerks tend to stick.

anyone who buys apple is a moron... you support a company that rapes your wallet.....they slowly release technologies that have already been established, so suckers, like whoever buys them, buys each new version that comes out...i.e. every single iphone, which each has been probably 6 months behind the top android phone released 6 months before it.....i bet the iphone 5 will be a lesser product than the galaxy s2.... ill put money on that.... and behind the moto bionic....BUT IT HAS ITUNES, SO I HAVE TO BUY IT.....haha... s

Three letters....HTC. All 5 of the people who bought the Jetstream love it. Why? Because of the Sense overlay on Honeycomb with a lot of bug fixes. Until the price drops enough that you don't need a second mortgage to buy one, buy a 7" Flyer. Nobody has an issue with it. Period. Gingerbread works just fine, and if you root it you can get all the cool little apps you're all probably used to using anyhow. Slap GO Launcher on it, and you can have 25 icons per screen, and unlimited (More than I'll ever use at least) screens too. No need to switch to Apple.

I normally don't post here because I despised my SGT-10 so much I took it back 2 days after buying one. Seeing how there are still the 2-3 posters who try to slam someone who says anything bad about their beloved SGT-10 and assume the only other choice is Apple and to be a "fanboy", I won't be back to read their rants. I just stopped in to let those who are completely frustrated and feel they have no choice other than (perhaps) Apple for a tablet that actually works, look at the HTC tabs. Better yet, look at the forums right on here. There aren't all the "My tab doesn't work" posts. Why? Because they work.

I personally loathe Honeycomb after my SGT-10 experience, but if the Flyer gets the HTC polished version, I'll give it another go.

Have a great day. Sent from my HTC Flyer using both thumbs.
