Hi,

I have a Nexus S 4G phone that has 2.3.4 grj22.

I need google play and want to upgrade it to the same version my other phones have.: JZO54K.

I rooted the phone with king root. Now, I have read all over and frankly feel like i am always coming in at the middle of a story.

Can someone please outline the steps and provide links if possible on how to upgrade to that version/build? Thank you so much!!!!

In all honesty - it's just not worth trying. From as recently the latest build is on a version of Android which is no longer supported by Google so it would still be useless.

The last version for the Nexus S was 4.1.2. You'd have to get the full ROM at https://developers.google.com/android/images#soju (there's no update for it), back everything up, then flash the ROM. But that's as far as you can go with that phone. (And I doubt that Google Play will work with it.)

If you learn enough programming to pull the hardware layer from the ROM, you might be able to modify a current version of AOSP to work on that phone, but with 512MB of RAM, it's not going to run very well.

There are some other ROMS for the phone (https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-s) so you can try some of them as well but, as I said, I don't think Google Play will work, or work well if it does at all, on any of them.)
