Hi. You were all so helpful in getting me excited about my phone today! I've ordered my SGP screen protector and am now looking at cases but am thoroughly confused (well, I'm also terrible at making decisions :)!

After going through pages and pages in here of threads, I have placed 3 items in my amazon.com cart - the otterbox commuter, the seido active (need to choose between the two) and also the Cruzer Lite Androidified A2 High Gloss TPU Soft Gel Skin case (only about $5).

I'm hoping to make a purchase without returning! Anyway, here is my story....

I dropped my last phone a lot (um, that's why the screen finally shattered :()
  • I'm a complete klutz
  • I tend to carry my phone in my hand, back pocket or purse (and sometimes even on top of my laptop as I walk to a meeting in the office - eek)
  • I don't want to add a lot of bulk.
  • I don't love the clip ons, so if it has one, I'd like it to be removeable

So, now that you know a little bit about me (ha ha), what case would you recommend?

Oh and I don't watch tv or movies on my phone so a kick stand isn't a necessity.

THANKS in advance for your recommendations!

I apologize. I know this has been talked about a lot in the other threads and am thinking that may be why no one has responded yet. I did read every single one of them and checked lots of reviews.. I'm just hoping someone can look at my personal needs and help me. There is no where local for me to go see these in person unfortunately, or I'd DEFINITELY do that :)

Thanks again!

I was looking at the same cases for my MAXX and I decided on the commuter.for me it offered verygood protection and for me very importantly it covered all of the Ports. I am hard on my phones and I take them into environments where dust dirty and sand is an issue so the port coverage is important to me.the defender is too big as I carry my phone in my pocket. The commuter strikes a perfect balance between portability and protection I like monger and highly recommend them.
hope this helps.

i can attest that the otterbox commuter gives the BEST protection you can have. the case will not survive a drunken pitch into an old Chevy Blazer at 5 foot range, but your phone will ;)

Sounds like quite a story! I am glad to hear that you survived. I hope your lesson was learned and there will be no more drunken pitches for you :)

crazy night, either way, the case was broken at the clip points, but the phone had not one scratch. slightly damp the next morning when i fetched it from the dew ridden grass, but all was well.

I have the Trident Aegis cover. I like it a lot. I had the commuter but it seemed slippery to me. The Trident does not. Also a plus for the trident over the commuter, the Trident has access to the sd slot without taking the case off. Commuter does not have this.

Thanks! Is the Trident bigger than the Commuter? I'm not too concerned about the SD slot as I rarely (to never) bother with accessing it. And, is it as tough for a klutz like me?

I have dropped mine several times and have had no damage to my phone. The other thing that attracted me to the Trident was that it came in other colors besides black. The main difference between the two is that the Trident has a little more silicon showing than the commuter. That is the reason it is less slippery. The outside plastic on the commuter seemed very slippery to me.

Sorry. Missed the size question. It is only minutely larger. I think the specs say it is larger but i really could not notice that much of a difference.

i do like the grip you get from the silicone, but i guess it depends on your line of work.

I am a computer geek who sits in front of a computer all day long! I'm leaning toward the otter box 'cause I know it and so many have recommended it. I tend to over analyze these things! I'm going to go crazy figuring it out and end up with no case and that is just not ok! :)

sure am, cant beat them. if you've never tried ZAGG before i'd recommend you give them a shot. had an Incredible 2 a while back and ended up giving it to another line on my account, installed a ZAGG screen protector on it when i got it, and he is still rocking it like it's new. dont remember the time frame really, but i got the Incredible 2 when it was fairly new to the market...

I have the Trident Aegis and I love it. Good grip and double thick silicone corners. All ports are covered and accessible. Great protection.

I have my mass in an otter box commuter and I am 100% confident that it will withstand the rigors of life. I dropped it off a counter onto a marble (harder than concrete) floor the second day I had the phone and the commuter saved the day. Not a scratch on the phone or case. It is a tax bulky and does hide the beautiful design of the phone, but those sexy lines don't look so hot with shattered screen. I swear by the commuter.

I threw my Commuter away. Way too slick for me. Also was quite bulky. Ended up with a Cruzerlite from Amazon that I like. The reason I wanted a case was not just for protection but also to give the phone some stickiness to make it easier to hold. The back is really slick and the phone is easy to drop.

Just my experience.

I would choose D, Otterbox Defender cool, protective, easy to grip textured case with great slim fit.:);):D:p:thumbup:
