Bought a Sony Xperia M c1905 off a friend as a temporary phone as need a mobile at all times for my line of work.

However. Upon receipt and advice that it had never been used (it did arrive still in box), I switched it on and realised it required a good charge as you would. I turned it off and left it to fully charge. When I switched it back on it vibrated as usual, followed by 'SONY' initial screen then the normal 'XPERIA' logo. After this a mixed ribbon-type, sort of flames design, as fire graphic moves from left screen to right as if part of the display boot-up process. It is like a screen saver-type graphic, a mixture of purple, orange, blue etc colours.

The problem is that it just keeps repeating or looping this graphic left to right, L - R, L -R...and so forth. It's clearly jammed and not moving on to home screen as you would expect without any issues. I used Sony PC Companion to reinstall Android, this completed successfully and the boot process commenced, aforementioned 'flames' graphic appeared, but, then disappeared after 10 secs and the 'setup' screen arrived and so on. Perfect. Until...it ran out of battery again and died, now I'm back to square one. PLEASE HELP I'm going cray here...

Some pics for reference provided! Much appreciated, thank you so much.
