please help!!!

My husbands Eris died last night. He put it on charger and when he tried to turn it back on it will turn on but gets stuck on the white screen with the three skater droids. We have pulled battery out and that didn't work. Does anyone have any suggestions on what we can do to fix it?

Will a factory reset work?

With the phone powered off, press and hold volume down and send while you turn the device on (yes, this takes a bit of dexterity.) See if you get the prompts to do a factory reset. Otherwise, I'm afraid that this is a warranty replacement issue.
