Droid, i appreciate your help. I am on my way to work right now. I will use the comp there and post back up. Is there any way my port on my phone is bad. I really don't think it is, but could it be damaged.

The voice you heard was the voodoo lady. It usually says something to the effect of "converting blah partition. x minutes remaining" and can take a while before the phone boots up. I'm a bit confused as to what you downloaded though. Where did you get the kernel from? Which version of Froyo are you on DL30 or EB01? If it's EB01, you can try jt's kernel at the link below. iirc it's ok to flash voodoo over voodoo but nonvoodoo over voodoo without first disabling is no bueno so you should be ok.

Yes sir... Last few days - Horrible. Hard to keep up with posts and editing posts with a ton of hypertext is a nightmare..
@ Trumastah, Have you tried unplugging the phone and plugging it back in with odin still running? It worked for me when odin didn't recognize my phone.
i tried using another computer and the usb port is still not being recogzized by the phone. I cant do anything if i cant get the phone to recognize odin. I am in download mode and i can get into cwm red or green. I have installed the correct samsung usb drivers and i have tried flashing a superclean DL30 and EB01 rom. i believe i have tried everything except the lord's prayer. Can i come to the conclusion that my usb on my phone is screwed up. If that is the case, i just don't see how.

Boot into recover, flash that kernel. When it’s done, press the menu soft button on the bottom left of the phone. This will take you back to the first page where you will go down and select voodoo. Then you will select “enable lag fix”.
then go back and restart...hopefully the kernel takes

my apologies for getting back to you so late. things got a little crazy at work last night. I just flashed the kernel you posted and it is at the samsung screen. it has been on that screen around 5 mins. Just patiently waiting.
Yeah. i called verizon today and they are sending me a like new phone tomorrow. I just cant figure out what to do.
