Please stop whining about Froyo.

And there it is. I am not super upset about not having Froyo yet, but I ran into my first case of software that I want that's out now being 2.2+, and when hulu for android comes out, it will also require Froyo.

I get irritated with the people who say, "Just root and quit whining," because there's no ROM for 2.2 on the Fascinate yet. The devs just let slip that they have a leaked version of it. So rooting doesn't even solve the software requirements complaint.

the alphas have flash 10.1, so you might be able to run hulu on an alpha froyo.

the thing that erks me is all the stuff they sold that says "this feature will be available with 2.2 release."

Look. Every post about Samsung has gotten to the point that there is no discussion because the comments get crapped on with "WAAAAH WHERE'S 2.2 FOR THE INSERT SAMSUNG PHONE HERE." As someone who has it, and has for a while, please, PLEASE stop whining. It's not that great. In fact, Eclair was better. Battery is worse. It broke half the Vibrants in Canada. It took away my favorite live wallpaper. Just shut up already.

Actually, I hope you get it tomorrow, and it breaks your phones, and then you can whine about getting Froyo and how disappointed you are.

Sorry but it's really getting old.

Have a nice (Flash?) day and (Gmail update?) same to you (apps that won't run below 2.2?), Bob. :-\

I don't understand why an SD card failure made you have to go without a phone for 8 weeks.

*sigh*

It was the internal SD module and mother board. Which means it wouldn't turn on, let alone boot up into Android. It was a literal brick. In Canada, they don't hand you a new phone. They send it to repair. So, because so many phones were broken, Samsung couldn't manufacture replacement boards, and Bell had run out of loaners. There was, at one point, an estimate return date on MY repair of February 2011, and it was sent in November 14 2010. It wasn't until Samsung and Bell cried uncle and said they weren't repairing anymore that people started getting their phones back.

And that's just the tip of the thread iceberg.

Call shenanigans all you want, but it's all there in black and white.

It has now gone to the Commissioner for Complaints for Telecommunications.

google is my friend, but i dont care about your phone, so im not gonna google it. :p
but that does suck about your phone. im just curious, does whinning about it here fix your sd problem?

lol.

i do agree on one thing, there are far too many "if i dont get froyo im gonna die from gonnacephilherpaids" thread all over the internet. my faith for froyo lies in the indie devs making our good phones awsome, not in vzw and sammy.

The point was that a Froyo update is the least worrisome thing that could go wrong. Hell, for all I know Sammy used the same modules in your phones and you may soon see the dreaded orange unable to mount internal SD failure right before the phone turns into a pretty paperweight lol.

My point was your second point. There are more worrisome things in the world that an OS update and it's gotten to the point that every single post about Samsung, even NON mobile phone posts, turn into whining about Froyo.

So what I'm getting from you is that:

1. You are tired of every other thread on this forum complaining or requesting Froyo.

And...

2. You could use whatever drug the few programmers Samsung designated for the Galaxy S phones were on when they tried writing their version of a Froyo update.

I can see that these threads are going to be causing an endless back and fourth of other threads and people complaining about other people complaining. Therefore, I'll be closing this one to be fair.
