Please tell me S9 has quick charge 3.0?

From Slash Gear: (I wanna send you the link, but my battery is dying)
The S9 keeps the 3,000 mAh battery of before, and the S9+ the 3,500 mAh of its predecessor. There’s fast wireless charging as well as fast wired charging using USB-C, and Gigabit LTE Cat.18 (with 4×4 MIMO and carrier aggregation) is onboard along with the WiFi a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, and NFC.

I would at least be happy with 3.0 since that's been out for 2 years.

It's not a deal breaker, but it's slightly disappointing if it only has QC 2.0.

Yeah, this is getting ridiculous. Their charging speeds are pretty much the slowest at this point.

Man that sucks. I remember how hot my S7 got with QC2.0, when I went to this G6 with QC3.0 it was like night and day, it doesn't get hot at all and it charges faster.

Hopefully you can turn fast charging off still.

I'd rather they just go with Power Delivery rather than trying to mess around with voltages and all.

It's open and works on a heap of devices with USB ports, especially USB-C.

The main issue is the licensing fee from Qualcomm. That would make the price of the phone even higher than it already is. If Samsung has been balking at this for years, why haven't they come out with something faster by now for their adaptive fast charging?

The thing that sucks about it isn't even the slow-speed because when I had my S7 the speed difference wasn't that much when I turned fast charging off. It's the heat from the fast charging on QC 2.0, the heat is what really worries me.

But if they have QC 2.0 they are already paying a licensing fee so can it really be that much more for 4.0? I don't know about the rest of you but I'd gladly pay another 50 bucks or so to get 4.0 hell even 3.0.

Did you use S8/Note 8?

They both, I believe, have QC 2.0.

Never had any issues with device getting hot with my S8 or Note 8 while charging.

I did not, that's good to hear. Still makes no sense to me why they pay for 2 and not 3 or 4.
