Pocket Problem

I am pretty new to Android, and touch screen phones for that matter. One Issue that I have had so far is that I cary my phone in my hip pocket, and when a call comes in, I pull my phone out and it automaticly answers or declines the call because the screen rubs on my pocket when I pull it out. Is there any settings that I can change on the phone to avoid this. My previous two phones were non touch screen Blackberrys.

Well there are two types of touchscreen phones. Most smartphones use capacitive, which require a warm object like a finger to touch it. On the Inspire, the proximity sensor tries to fix this by not activating the screen until there is nothing around the phone, ie out of your pocket.
