My son uses my old LG G3s, which has a broken screen, but Pokemon Go is slow and the GPS is acting up. The phone also quickly becomes so hot, so the phone makes the screen darker. It's time for a new one, but I want to make sure that the new one can play the game properly. Also I don't want to use too much money, as he will only use it for play. I share my internet with him, when he's on.

I'm looking at LG K10 as we have used LG the last couple of years. Do you think it will run Pokemon Go without major issues?

Doesn't look like it. According to gsmarena there's a few models of K10 and only one of them has enough RAM.

Thanks. How much RAM should I look for? I already look for 16 GB phones as the 8 GB LG G3s quickly fills up and become very slow.

Now I read it needs 2 GB RAM for Pokemon Go to work, so I found LG X Screen. 2 GB RAM and 16 GB space and Android 6.0.

All cheaper phones only have 1 or 1.5 GB RAM.

Something with a 720p display with current generation specs should do the trick. If you can find with a Snapdragon 617, 625 or 810 if you can find a you should be golden. Maybe you could even look into something like the OnePlus 2 as it should be dirt cheap now.

LG X Screen only have Snapdragon 410, so that is not good enough?

I'm also looking at Huawei P8 Lite. Some places says it has Snapdragon 615 other says it has HiSilicon Kirin 620.

How about LG G3 eventhough it's old. Snapdragon 801, 2 GB RAM and 16 GB Space, but only Android 4.4.2.

I recently had a LG G4 and loved it, but it boot-loops, so I'm afraid to get a new one. I ended up getting my money back for my G4 and now have a G5.

I got a LG K10 a few days ago and it keeps crashing my pokemon go. Still trying to figure out why. Did you end up getting a K10?

I'd recommend a Samsung Galaxy s5. It runs a good 10 to 15 degrees cooler than the LG G3 and the screen is better.
Another option would be to consider the hardware cooling mod for the G3. It's supposed to help with the CPU heat and lag.

You might want to try a new brand, I've been using Asus Zenfones for 2 years now and I don't regret switching from Samsung to Asus. I currently have a Zenfone Laser and aside from its decent specs, its price is affordable.
