Poll: Do you use the IR blaster?

Update. All the tv's in our house are rokus Tried the blaster but the roku remote was much quicker and actually easier to use

Usually I don't touch the remote in someone else's house but is it really all that difficult to figure out a remote?

Actually, yes. There's always like 5 remotes and I'm like asking them, how the heck do you turn on the dang TV? Still am not familiar with my Uverse remote at home.

The only remote I've ever had to quick learn is at my friends cabin because he has the dish network, but even that was easy.

1 constantly. Away as well as at home. Love the learning feature too. Was able to teach the ir codes of a noname fan. Did you know the phone did that? None of my other phones had the learning capability.

There are WAY too many buttons and the layout for each remote is always different. The only remote that I find easy to use and is my Samsung TV remote, pretty basic and doesn't have that many buttons.

The buttons have labels

Not a V20 owner but this shows in recent posts so I'll throw in my 2 cents.

I have NEVER found a IR Blaster on my phone to be useful, played around with it on a tablet once, didn't care for it, have had a few phones with them and didn't use the feature.

For whatever reason I enjoy having it on a smart watch. Especially when traveling, who has time to fight over a hotel remote.

Still never found it hard to use a remote lol :P.

Yup... By far the least used hardware feature on my phone. I wouldn't miss it but hope they don't take it away unless they have to use the space for something else for the sake of those that like it.

Actually, I completely forgot that the LG V20 comes with an IR blaster. Is there a specific app that I should be using for this? I have the T-Mobile Unlocked version of the phone. Perhaps something I should download from LG SmartWorld?

I use the LG app QuickRemote on my Sprint V20.

Right you are! I have this, too, but ended up forgetting about it. Thank you!

I use it occasionally to turn off tv's around the house when kids leave them on when they fall asleep.
Also in waiting rooms at car repair shops, doctors office, bars and restaurants.

Exactly how I feel. The remotes that came with my devices are the go to but in a pinch or in a bar having the IR blaster is essential!
