Poll.... does yours have touchscreen issues with the latest build?

Mine seems to work fine. None of the issues in Google maps shown in the OP video. I bought mine the 1st day at Best Buy in Emerville, CA.

Flawless on new JSS15J build. Purchased on the 26th a best buy.

I believe that issue with the chrome tabs is a problem with chrome. Sometimes happens for me on other devices.

That crap happens with my phone and it's annoying as hell. I agree with the people above, you have to hold the tablet instead of letting it lie flat on something. Glass surfaces seem to be the worst. Must need grounded. Mine works perfectly until the 12th beer, and then it acts weird...must be the electrolyte balance...

My N7 also has problems. If touches cross the vertical or horizontal axis, the input goes nuts as you see on the videos. The issue is 100% reproducible but goes away if the tablet is plugged in to the USB charger. I have not noticed much of a difference in touch problems if I hold it in different ways. I have also had problems with swiping text via the Android keyboard, and registering simple touches on keys, but only a couple of times.

I observed this before I loaded it up with 3rd party software. When I took it out of the box I immediately applied the OTA update so I can't compare touch performance on the two build numbers.

My Office Max 15-day window is up on Saturday, so unless Google can rush out an OTA patch by Friday I will have to return it. I'm hopeful that this can be fixed with software, but if it can't I don't want to incur the delay and expense of shipping it out for warranty service. It'll be much easier to just buy a new one when it is safe to do so.

I have had my Nexus 7 for 3 days and the touch screen won't work. How do I reboot it or fix it? Should I return it?

Won't work at all, or doesn't always work, or??? Describe the issue. If it doesn't work at all, definitely exchange it. Otherwise, try to get the updates that were released recently that address many of the touchscreen issues first.

This is a video of my touchscreen problem. It won't work on the arm of a chair or couch.

My 2013 N7 (N7HD) does not exhibit the shown map touch problem. I'm on the update "Q" build. Tested it handheld and one handed on table.

This tablet is awesome! Bummer that some have a different experience.

No issues. Runs perfectly. Also corrects issues with apps like Netflix

That's terrible! Which build are you on?

I'm on the 'Q' build. It corrected the multi-touch jumpiness completely. I'm very happy that I can do pinch-to-zoom now without the screen freaking out.
But this no screen response thing did not go away. Sitting on the couch or in the car is where I want to use it the most. I have to either hold it, or put a finger from the opposite hand on the bezel which basically makes it a two handed device. I'm going to make a better vid of this. It's a bit hard to make a vid if I have to hold a camera with one hand if the N7 will only work with two hands. I can only show it working if I use my thumb on the screen while holding it like I did in the first vid.

So if this isn't normal I want to try to return it to Asus under warranty, but I don't know if they'll accept it as faulty, or return it with no problem found.
Is this normal? Can someone show me a vid of the N7 working on a stuffed chair arm or cushion?

I just updated to the Q build and it definitely does NOT fix these issues. So glad to find this thread as I've been trying to reproduce the dead touch problem but couldn't correlate it with anything. It seemed random, but now I can completely reproduce it. If the tablet is laying on the table, not connected to USB, the whole left side of the screen is mostly dead. It will sporadically register a touch if I keep tapping, but it's pretty useless. If I plug in the USB or touch the GLASS with my other hand OR multi-touch with 2 or more fingers, then it seems to work fine.

Very frustrating.
