[POLL] How much data do you consume in a month?

Not to hijack the thread, but I have to ask. Are those of you who use more than a gig or two using your device as your only internet connection?

The reason I'm wondering is that my roots are in BlackBerry, so a month over 150mb has been rare. I don't want to underestimate my usage and get hit for overages, but I also don't want to pay for data I won't be using.

I mostly browse for a few minutes a day, some IM, maybe a little streaming music, and the occasional navigation. My wife only does a bit of facebooking, and not much else. Most heavier usage will be at home on wifi. I know that since android doesn't have the compression of bis, data usage will be higher. Will 4GB be enough?

Well, I consume around 30GB per month and though I have a high speed Internet on my laptop and desktop, I end up doing 80% of my browsing on my phone. Most of the time I'm too lazy to power up my PC, so yes; my phone is my primary Internet source.

I would say on average I use about 3 or 4 GB per month of cell data.

I've never bothered to track my usage over wifi, but between 1.5 and 6 GB a month cellular. It depends greatly on how much I go out in a month and how many places have WiFi, because I will generally connect to WiFi whenever it is available because the connection is more consistent.

Around 6-8GB on LTE. 15-25GB on wifi. Lot of Netflix and YouTube. And feedly, and the verge, and chrome.

It's NFL* season and use at least 5GB (out of my 6GB).

*Off Topic. Change needs to happen with my Steelers, I want Todd Haley (OC) fired. I never liked the move last year.

**** 0-4. :(

It seems that some here must be on their phones 24/7 to use all that data. What are you guys doing to eat up 40-50 gb or even 5-10 gb each month? Wow!....I use less that 1 GB per month. Last month was a high month with 900mb. of data usage on my Galaxy Nexus. I admit to using WiFi at home and whenever possible but even then I would estimate my usage at less than 2gb. And yes, I do have unlimited data.

The main reason I couldn't use 50gb on my gnex was because half the time I was having signal issues. Now I'm signal issue free and can really use my phone like I want.

To all the people who are using more than 2GB a month...

Where are you getting your unlimited data from?

My data is capped around 2.5GB a month before it becomes throttled. I have Straight Talk.

I always use at least 2GB on 3G, and it usually stops there because that's where my plan is capped. I need to wait a few days for it to reset, but if I happen to purchase extra data it usually stays below 2.3GB. On WiFi, about 10GB.
