A day after receiving my phone, I began to notice the bottom speaker was louder than the top. Now I'm wondering if this is common.

Holding the phone about 6-8 inches away from you, play a video or mp3 of talking (standup comedy/video blog/etc) with the volume 3-4 notches below max. Do one of the speakers sound slightly/noticeably louder?

Have you tried it with different files or is it all voice recordings? The speakers are stereo so each is playing a different channel and it depends on how the source was recorded/mixed.

Yeah, I've tried it with many different files, from music to movies, video podcasts, etc. In every occasion the results are the same. I only specify vocal-centric files because they appear to be most prominent in replicating the issue.

I'm happy to see that it's many here aren't having the issue. Hhowever, the results on my similar thread on XDA are mixed. I have a new unit on its wat to me now, so I'll verify it then and post back on here.

So have you noticed anything?

If you put your ear next to each speaker dont you notice a difference in sound on volume and quality?

Have you tried it with the same ear?

Mine is, just recently noticed and it's especially noticeable when Beats is turned OFF....any fixes for this yet or is it a replacement phone only?

My bottom speaker is louder too. I think is common thing.

My speakers seem to be playing good! But it could be your file that your playing or even a damaged unit? It can be hard to tell sometimes.

My bottom speaker is slightly louder. I'm betting most people don't notice. After googeling it, its always the bottom speaker that's louder, I have yet to see it the other way around.

Bottom speaker is louder here to. I've also noticed that the top speaker has a little more hiss to it as well. I think this is normal.

My M7 has this problem too. After the update before the last one, things were getting better. After the last update of the android, the problem came back... I think it is a software problem
