Agreed, I'm being optimistic and voting August instead of never. Hopefully if LG does the update it will be a good base for custom ROMs even if Sprint doesn't push it out.

Being realistic I vote never.
It would cost LG and Sprint to customize, test, and certify a upgrade.
Would you think they would do such for a phone they are giving out for practically free?

Not many companies out there are even getting updates to their phones either. How long it took Samsung for their top of the line S? Is it even out for the US? Last I read it "might" have come out for EU.

I agree that since this phone is free now and there are so many other obligations for Sprint, that this phone will get "lost" in the shuffle.

Not being negative, being realistic. Sprint never said anything about pushing GB, LG did. But its not up to LG which Sprint phones get updates.

This is a really good point. If/when it is released it would probably be something that you have to take your phone in for or use the LG update tool.

I'm not so sure I see sprint doing the update either. That's not really what I'm excited for. I want the update to the Optimus one so we can get some gb drivers for cm7. I do believe LG will release the update. Hopefully we can harvest when they do.

It'll be so awesome if they do. I agree with you.. This phone is a little power house in that the graphics processor takes a load off the main cpu, so I think there is no question that it could handle gingerbread.
