I didn't notice this so much before, because I was using cheap earphones, but I just upgraded to a set Sennheiser Urbanites and it doesn't sound that great. Everything sounds so far away and flat. Actually using Poweramp to try and get a better music player (have been for a while). I took the EQ off thinking that these would sound awesome, but was disappointed. Had to crank it up to get decent volume (got the loud volume warning)
Plugged them into my gaming rig and the headphones came alive, great volume, plenty of low end and I'm hearing everything in songs and this is with onboard audio (no dedicated sound card). Difference is night and day. S4 sounds OK, better than with cheap headphones, but not great. Gaming rig shows me what these can do.
Can the S4 really not drive anything more powerful than £20 earphones? Has the audio always been that bad??? Any way to fix?
