when i output hdmi to my tv or an external monitor, it looks horrible. is there any way to modify the output resolution? I'm looking at large photos I've taken and they look horrible - all blocky, and pixelated. i've tried it on my 22" monitor, and a 50" TV - looks horrible on both devices. its outputting 1280x720.

i've also tried mirroring the display and that looks equally as bad. I'm open to any / all ideas.

Look at the specs for your chosen display and look for "Native Resolution". For example my 32" Sharp will do up to 1080 but it's native resolution is 1366X768. The HDMI output looks horrible with anything I connect until I set the device to match the native resolution. When displaying at native resolution it's a 1:1 output and is far better quality.

The hdmi out put can be up to 1080p so that might be the problem. Some stuff like games or pictures and videos ment for a lower quality like 720p will look like crap if force to output to 1080p. I have not checked it out but when u connect your HDMI, use your tv remote and hit info and see what format its showing in. (EX) 720p and/or 1080p. Maybe Motorola needs to adjust the output settings unless they are built into the software to detect the maximum output of the tv.

the phone is outputting 1280x720. i'd be ok if the phone output its native. i tried my tv on 1:1 mode and it was still outputting 1280x720. i'm open to any suggestions. ive tested this on a few different displays. a 1024x768 native projector, a 720p native tv, and a 1920x1280 native monitor. it looks like CRAP on all three.
