Poor reception, GPS, wifi, etc.

Are all these just part of the fascinate or does it have to do with what I'm running?

Firm: 2.2.1
Baseband: S:i500.04 V.EB01
Kernel: 2.6.32.9

are you rooted? any roms? If I am not mistaken, and I could be, the EB01 is not the newest one. If your not rooted, try doing the OTA update from Verizon

Rooted, overclocked kernel, and KangBang v1.3
Been rooted for a while now, it's nothing new, I just lived with the reception for a long time.

flash one of the newer radios and then do a *228 (option 2 I think)

Post number 4, right under the roms is a list of radios that are available. I think the newest we can flash is EC01, the ED01 is from the OTA but I dont see it listed. My understanding is that there is almost no difference if any between the two

Just another note: Our setup are close and the only time I had issues was when I went to Kaoscinate so that is unrelated. I also do not have my kernel OC'd but I don't know if/how that would make a difference. The GPS may be a different issue altogether, and you may also want to try to flash the GPS fix that is located in that same thread.

I can say that I have no issues getting a good GPS lock, and I have never had call quality/WIFI/data issues outside of the one mentioned above

Hmm, I'm getting off work now so I'll look into all that when I get home. My only problem is, I can be on the other side of our small apartment, where my laptop picks up my wireless router just fine, only a room and a half in between and it has full bars. My phone in the same location will be lucky if it gets 1 bar of wifi. Same with my college campus, everyone else has decent wifi but me. GPS, I can't get that to work if I let it sit outside for an hour. Thanks for the suggestions though!

Flash the ec01 radio would be my first thought. I would seriously consider flashing back to DI01 stock, then getting the OTA upgrade to 2.2 and flashing kangbang again. You may have a kernel that's only partially compatible with your rom/radio combo and is causing you issues. Do you use a case? anything funny about that?

I'm having this problem as well actually, there's something going on with verizon's data switching atm is what I've gathered

Well, I do use a case but my reception doesn't seem to change with or without it.
It's been an issue since I was on stock rom/radio it seems, although I was only on that for about a day? I was running superclean before this, it was packed with this radio, and it hasn't gotten any worse or better, it just seems bad overall. My girlfriend has the old Droid Eris, it seems to have MUCH better reception. Also, we had to use her GPS when travelling because mine wouldn't lock on, put it in the window, let it try for an hour before giving up. That's the only downfall I see with the Fascinate so far.
