I have been having reception issues since I flashed the first Froyo leak. I have been hoping updates would make it better, but no luck. So I fired up Odin and did some testing. I watched the signal strength for 5 minutes on ED01, Comm ROM. Signal varies from -91 to -98. Odined back to stock DL09, watched for 5 minutes. Signal varies from -75 to -89. Flashed EA28, -92 to -98. Odined DL09, back to the 80's. Did the OTA to EA28, in the 90's. Back to DL09, 80's. flashed up to ED01, 90's.
So, I figured, DL09 has a better reception radio package. So I Odined just the DL09 radio, 90's. Still sucks. Tried DJ05, 90's. Hmm.
I have no idea what all this means, other than I can't get reception at work like I used to. What really ticks me off is we have 3 Fascinates and an X at work, and mine has the worse reception. The stock Froyo Fascinate had 3 bars today, I had 1 sometimes. Before this, I used to get 3g when the X couldn't. Now I can't even use my phone at work, and the X can all day.
It might just be my phone, but if others try this, and get the same results, maybe we can figure out how to fix it.
As an aside, I don't have the 3G lock issue. Once I get 3G reception, it stays as long as I have a signal.
