POP email date wrong after 2.2

When I get an email on my POP account it shows the date of the email as December 31st 1969 and it is at the bottom of all my emails..... I have checked and my date and time are set correct on the phone (set to network) anyone else having this problem?

Yes all of the above!lol.. I have noticed that I can send a email (from phone) on my gmail to my pop account it shows up correct.. But all outside emails show the incorrect date... Crazy..

Yes all the dates are correct on the computer... I did a reset and a batt pull several times.. I do notice ( maybe you can confirm) when I pull the batt then reboot, I notice that the date (for a very brief moment) says December 31st...... Also when I load LPP the calendar widget shows Dec, 31st 1969 on start up also then corrects itself to current date.. Its like the POP account is not syncing the correct date from the phone/network (the time is correct, just the date is wrong) this only happens with my work POP account though (windstream/nuvox) ?? I have sent several emails though comcast, gmail, blackberry, hotmail, and they all come through correct... This has to be a 2.2 problem and not a windstream/nuvox problem because it worked Perfect before the update today.. It's crazy.. Someone try the batt pull reboot and side if you date on the lock screen shows Dec, 31st for a brief moment...

check settings - date and time, if you haven't already. Maybe you can change something in there?

I'm having the exact same problem. POP3from my work server dates everything Dec 31. 1969. No other email account is doing this. I'm using stock email program. I've sent to work via SMTP, Gmail, and other accounts and it shows up fine...

Yea this sucks... Motorola couldn't figure it out either, they had me load K9 mail from the market.(K9 works, but i like the look and feel of the stock).

Verizon is sending me a replacement phone. (what hosting domain do y'all use at work?)
Maybe it is something that is corrupt within the POP email client after the update..
If the replacement phone doesn't work i think i will want to go back to 2.1. Email is a big thing for me as this is my Work phone (first) fun phone (second)

Really, with text messages.. That makes me think it is more to do with something corrupting with the update itself. Giving me hope that my monday replacement will work.... I hope so.. This December 31, 1969 is killing me..

Got replacement phone yesterday and,,,,SAME THING!! Also the replacement phone VZW sent me had a very bad blur effect when scrolling, needless to say that phone is shipping right back to them today... Still stuck with DEC. 31, 1969.......

Are you still having issue with this? I too am getting very tired of seeing the wrong date with all messages from my work place via windstream/nuvox end up at the bottom of the list. I must scroll top to bottom to find unread mail, very anoying!! I was just getting read to delete the account and reset it up, but it apeers this has already been tried.

It sounds as if your problems stem from your workplace server if everything else is OK, particularly if the Gmail account dating is working. Gmail is the clearing house for calendar and email; setting changes and any other changes there are synced instantly to the X and visa versa.

Another thought, although it may not apply because you have the same problem on a new X ... delete Launcher Pro (do you have the Plus version? If not, consider it) and reinstall it after a battery pull.

I have deleted the account several times and set back up again and again... Still having the problem.... I have just been using K-9mail. I really want this to get fixed.. I have talked with Moto, verizon, and even Nuvox/Windstream and no fix. I think this is really a problem on Windstreams end.. I just hope for a fix soon...

LOL.. SORRY to bring up an old thread, but i just got an email from Windstream that said, they are working on the problem and hope to have this fixed with the next update. The latest 2.2 update did not mesh well with our servers... Almost 3 months later!! LOL...BTW i still have the Dec, 31, 1969 on my stock email client (I just reloaded it to check).. I have been using K9 mail with no problem.. Just by chance has anyone else had this problem fixed for them somehow?

I just picked up the Droid Bionic a few weeks ago, having the same issue with email dates on my work email. Date is always a day behind the actual date and the year started at 2011 then progress every day. Now showing in the year 2024... been on the phone with Verizon and Motorola with not fix. I'm on the newest update. Have you had any fix other than using K-9 yet?
