Portfolio case and standard dock

So I bought the portfolio case and the standard dock. The case says that its compatible with the dock. I find it rather cumbersome to have the two work together... It almost looks like it would work great if the charger/usb connections were on the opposite side of the Xoom. I can't spin it around in the portfolio, else the camera and buttons don't line up to their holes.

Any one have some luck with this?

Otherwise, I am satisfied with the portfolio case. I know a lot of folks don't care for it...

effing email the manufacture....of course crap is crap. Sorry, bless your heart for confirming BS manufactures ship.

I'm in the same boat. The dock has 2 adapters, on for case, one for without but I can't get the XOOM to fit with the case on. Looks like crap to me :-)

How much thicker does the portfolio case make this thing?

Also, how easily does it come out of the case?

Actually, it makes the thing about 3/16" thicker, overall. The screen protection pad is VERY good, though.

I had the same issue with the P-case and the standard dock. The dock's "case" plate appears to be made for the Silicone case, not the P-case, as the case plate moves the support-back back about 1/8 of an inch, and drops the cradle about 1/16, effectively allowing the USB connector and the battery contacts to penetrate further into a cased XOOM.

I REALLY want to be able to dock this thing at work, though, so I'll probably wind up just swapping for the silicone case. Though that's going to suck when I'm flying, because the stand aspect of the P-case pretty much rocks.

As far as easy-to-remove, I suppose the P-case is as easy as any other thing. Issue will be the retaining nubbins on the lips of the case. continuous insertion and removal will eventually wear a groove where those nubbins are... I just know it.

I had the Portfolio case and returned it for the sleeve case. Reason? Terrible design on Moto's part. The case SCRATCHED my Xoom in several places because it's made poorly. I also thought it was idiotic that I couldn't charge it while the case was in landscape mode. Awful.

If what you're talking about is the retaining mechanism on the case making scratches in the side finish of the pad, then I'll have to agree. Though I wouldn't call it "poorly" made, I think it's not well thought out as a case that's not permanent. And, it DEFINITELY doesn't fit in the dock with the case on.

So, it's to the skin for me.

If there were an "exasperated" emoticon, you'd see it here.

All of these case posts are making me very glad I passed on both offered to me at the Verizon store. Have seen a few interesting leather ones on Ebay but they aren't going to ship for a few weeks.
