Well it's not compatible w/ the Moto E4 for some reason

Glad it'll work w/ the V30 though.

Snapseed has a portrait effect template and then you can use the blur tool and it actually looks way better than the Note 8 portrait mode IMO which looks kinda fake and distorted.

To get the effect optically, you need the distance from the subject to the background to be much much bigger than the distance from the camera to the subject.

Have you compared it to the Google Camera app? I think that would be fun to do.

SO using the snapseed portrait effect is better than the note 8 live blur, is it better than the Google Camera app blur?

No I had my camera close enough to the bike that it naturally created a bokeh effect. I think the distance of everything else in the picture (depth of field) added to what was shot.
