I've had two Note 4. One I gave to a relative, they upgraded from LG Optimus G Pro. It has been nice.
The other one I got for another relative, bought new on Ebay for about $100. that has been fabulous. Just accept that the factory battery is junk, they no longer make new OEM ones, all "new" OEMs are several years old and aged with lost capacity, and the best aftermarket is ZeroLemon 10,000 mAh.
The size is great, 16:9 is great, the picture quality is A1, the screen is vibrant. Come to think of it, I like it more than my Samsung Galaxy S8+.
With Note 4 --- No stupid curved edge screen, no 18.5:9 ratio, no built-in battery you cannot remove...
Last but not least you can get a new or LNIB for not much more than $100.
Right now Note 4 is the best value of any phone. It's great as someone's first phone.
My next phone will probably be LG V20 as the specs are ahead of Note 4 but Note 4 is still a great choice.
And I got this glass screen protector that makes it even better.
