Possibilities of Android Wear

Enlighten me on what all I could do with an Android Wear watch. I'm thinking about getting one this holiday season but I don't want to just get one to get one, I want to use it.

But if it's really just a middle man between my phone and me, and doesn't provide anything else then I definitely don't want to waste my money.

-reading and sending text messages
-reading email
-viewing Google now updates (especially helpful when you travel)
-viewing GPS turn-by-turn
-paying for food using third party apps
-calling a car using third party apps
-ordering food using third party apps
-creating and sending fitness telemetry to Google Fit on your phone
-remote trigger for the Google camera app on your phone
-remote control for Android TV powered devices
-phone muting
-direct phone call routing
-smart lock in Lollipop
