Was in Waterloo today, and noticed the 4G light up on the top of my Droid Charge. Is it possible? It was off and on. Those of you in other areas, how long does it usually take to go live full time once you start to see some testing? *cautiously optimistic*

A friend reported 4G to be on in Waterloo today. He also mentioned that it dropped out shortly into CF

I've seen 4G appear "unofficially" weeks before it officially goes live. It's certainly not too far off until it's officially turned on. Of course, expect it to be on and off until the launch date as they test the system.

I'm hoping that's the case. I live north of Portland, ME. 5 miles north of where 4G ends, to be precise. I also live south of Augusta, ME. Portland and Augusta are about equidistant from my location. I'm hoping 4G from Augusta that's schedule to go live this week doesn't end 5 miles north of me.

A few weeks ago, I got a couple of 4G blips at home, served (as verified by OpenSignalMaps) by towers in my home town that are currently "officially" 3G-only. So I'm hoping this is a sign that Big Red is going to make 4G continuous, and not leave a ten-mile 3G gap right along the Interstate in the middle of two large 4G areas.

But it would be just my luck if they did. LOL!

I hear you. T-Mobile and USCellular have 4g in town. T-Mobile Drops off approx one mile from my steps while USC is six. I was really hoping T-Mobile would turn up the gain as the internet is unlimited.

My Verizon cell is still unlimited but the best I get is 1.3mb

I had it in Dubuque too, just for a little bit. Rumor has it Verizon was testing..
