If this comes true. I will pull the trigger on the Note 9! If not I will pass and wait for the Note 10 or get the Pixel 3.

512GB internal storage? I doubt it. The larger phones are at 128GB now. We'll probably start seeing 256GB later this year or next. And 512GB by about 2020 or 2021.

As far as 8GB of RAM, what are you going to use it for? You're basically running one app at a time, the Android memory manager can still handle almost all apps in 1GB, so 8GB would just be overkill. If you regularly (every few minutes) switch between apps, and you're switching between 5 or 6 of them, okay, but if you're switching between say a password safe and a browser, 2GB is enough to keep them both in RAM. (Remember, if an app's in the background [not currently on the screen] and Android needs the RAM space, it can just kill the app. That takes microseconds at most. Then, when you bring the app back to the screen, loading it doesn't take long.)

I'd rather see 1TB internal storage and a much larger capacity battery than 8GB of mostly useless RAM. Or just give us back replaceable batteries. (And an SD card in the Pixel line - just make it impossible to move any apps to it.) That's about my ideal phone - my Pixel 2 with an external SD card and a replaceable battery. (They'll update Android until R, so I'd like to keep it until S, unless some great new hardware comes out [I got it to have a fingerprint sensor], but I doubt that the battery will last that long.)

With the not to good sales of the S9 and S9 Plus they have to do something to boost the sales of the Note 9. Since there will not be a under the glass fingerprint scanner they have to do something. Ice Universe has been pretty good with his leaks of past Samsung phones. It could happen. If not I will pass.

The Exynos-based Note 9 already showed up on Geekbench with 6G ram (the Snapdragon version had also shown up previoisly). I don't believe these rumors.

If a 512Gb version happens, bet it remains exclusive to Korea like past Samsung phones with larger storage options.

I don't see how 8GB will really be helpful but perhaps Sammy will add some additional bloat that may make use of it. How many need 512GB of storage on a phone...let alone when we have SD cards? Enough people to justify making such a version?

How about Sammy put their energy into something that will benefit most, if not everyone...

a larger battery

Multiwindow, Multitasking and greater use of Assistants will push the need for more memory and better app management. And memory does get cheaper as manufacturing processes improve.

I would love to see it, but I'm betting the memory will be the same, to manage room for a bigger battery and the cameras that came with the S9 plus

i am using n8 with 256gb memory !

+1 for larger battery

Yes. Size matters.

They have to do something that stands out, 8gb ram is already out there, triple camera as well, 4000mah batteries and the under screen finger print sensor coming from a few other manufacturers too.......

I'm guessing no one else caught that it didn't say 512 GB of internal storage. It said 512 GB of "ROM." If the OS is taking up that much space, that's some next level bloatware! Lol. That would mean they need at least 576 GB of internal storage (512 GB for the OS plus 64 GB user space) to be remotely marketable. So I call BS on this rumor.

I think most people would faint at the price of 512.

Most likely, yes.

My last phone was a 256 GB iPhone 7. I only bought it because T-Mobile offered me a $650 trade-in on my iPhone 6. It would've been far too expensive to justify the upgraded storage without that extra money.

They started mass production of the 512gb SoC about 6 months ago so it's not totally unrealistic, considering that you can get Note 8 and S9+ with 256gb it would make sense to at least have 512gb as an option.
Personally I would 512 and Also to have both dual sim AND memory card option

If I had a choice of a 128gb or a 512gb version for $100, I would get the 128gb version. Plenty of space for me when factoring in the SD expansion.

They've pretty much confirmed a larger battery in the 9. 3850mah I believe.
