A selection about 10 -12 photos stored on my Micro SD card on my Samsung A06 appear to be corrupted suddenly.
Also, they appear greyed out in my Google Photos backup too.
Is there anything I can do to recover them?

With the images being on the SD you might be able to use something like Recuva on a PC or laptop with the phone connected via USB cable. If the card isn't encrypted, which I assume it would be, you could try this from a card reader.

Do you remove the SD on this device when it is powered on?

Have you allowed the phone to shutdown from low battery?

These are the two things often responsible for corrupted data. That isn't to say it couldn't happen any other way. In the storage settings there is usually an option to eject or unmount the SD before transfer.

If it's an old card, it could be getting worn out. Especially if it's had a lot of files saved and then deleted from it. SD cards are a write once/read many type storage medium. Excessive writing and deleting can wear them out quicker.
