OP, can't blame people for being inquisitive regarding information that doesn't jive with known facts. Especially since the majority are foaming at the mouths for the device that is inferior to the Incredible.

And, since you've never compared the two, how do you know its "inferior" to the incredible?
I can tell you I have returned my 2 Incredibles because of the horrific phone call quality, random reboots, and screen freezages..

Absolutely - don't blame anyone for that. When my buddy called me I had the same reaction. Waiting to hear from him later today. He wasn't sure about reasons and such.
Hopefully we will know more later today. Sorry to get everyone riled up - I was just looking to see if anyone else heard anything along these lines.
doubtful there is any delay, especially since they passed out thousands of them at Google IO yesterday...
In what way is the 4g phone inferior to the 3g phone, in what way is the 8 megapixel camera inferior to a 5, in what way is having a front facing camera inferior to not having one, in what way is having a 4.3 inch screen inferior to a smaller one. Wow I bet you think Lamborghini is inferior to a Ford Focus.

Why have you still neglected the fact to mention who you heard this from? its a simple question. is he an HTC rep, Sprint Rep, BB rep? Radio Shack? that information will not out your friend.
Actually, I have said that he is NOT a representative of any of the above companies.
Would this be the same source that leads you to make the claim in another thread that Sprint will have and Iphone in September?

It's amazing what people will argue for over opinion based posts, especially at condescending (missing the boat) ones like mine. However, it also puts a good perspective over how human nature works in terms of belief values.
Hm, if your friend doesn't work for any of those companies, does he work for UPS or FedEx? Those would be the only ones that I can think of that could give us bad news. But again, they gave tons of them away, the date is official, pre orders are in full swing...i really hope there is no delay!

I'll believe this post when android central or another actual credible source/site says that it will be delayed not just someone with a crap source who wont tell us who or what his source is.
they just handed out 5,000+ EVOs at Google I/O like they were potato chips. in fact, they probably bang these off the production line just like potato chips. fast and furious. HTC has production and logistics down to a science.

The carrier is looking to its Evo smartphone, the first 4G phone in the U.S., as another catalyst. The phone is slated to launch in early June, days before the believed launch date for the next Apple Inc. (AAPL) iPhone.
Brust said that the company has learned a lot from a year ago, when it launched the Palm Inc. (PALM) Pre as its flagship smartphone. He acknowledged that the phone struggled in the market.
"The Pre didn't work out as well as we hoped," he said.
Part of the issue was the lack of supply. Brust said that he doesn't see an inventory issue with the Evo.
