Found this on reddit showing preorder for unlocked s7 at $899 and released on 25th of March. Obviously if this is accurate edge will be more.
What are your thoughts?

Good info. We will see. International versions probably won't support 3 of the usa carriers which Samsung made specific versions for though...and even though it does work on some carriers... There could be some limitations.

And there's also the issue of warranty and carrier support for international versions.

I have to buy unlocked and those prices are beyond my budget.

Those are from third party sellers not sold and ships by Amazon which is what you need if you are looking for US warranty and actual unbranded/unlocked US model. Unfortunately it doesn't exist and all you get is imported versions without warranty and support sold by third party sellers on Amazon, eBay or other websites.

Yeah looks like I will just stick with my ATT branded phone and deal with the bloatware and update cycles. Phone will be great regardless
