can anyone confirm that one can get a sprint GN4 unlocked for domestic use to work on t-mobile and use LTE? I'm looking to switch now that contract is up.
The Sprint Note4 supports LTE on 800/900/2100. T-Mobile offers LTE on none of these bands.
The Sprint Note4 and T-Mobile share the 1900 band for GSM/UMTS only. T-Mobile also uses AWS (1700 and 2100) for HSPA. If you are in an AWS area (like, for example, where I live in south central Maine), you will not get any HSPA.
My AT&T Note 4 took some quality time in service menus turning on supposedly-unsupported LTE bands to work at all on T-Mobile, and even after all that I got LTE only about half the time (when I found AWS) and never saw HSPA/HSPA+ at all (the AT&T Note 4, like the Sprint one, cannot use AWS for HSPA/+, and that is the only frequency it is offered on around here). Most of the time I was on EDGE (128k speeds - "somewhat on the slow side").
Unfortunately, even among carriers using the same technology, using one carrier's model on another carrier's network is rarely a very rewarding experience.
