Possible to turn off Google Services?

Lately I've been having major battery troubles..I've already replaced batteries and chargers so I'm quite certain the problem lies elsewhere...I suspect in Google Services.

I'm in China using a phone bought in the US. This is relevant because here in China, access to all things Google is blocked..meaning I can't use Google Play, Search, Gmail, Location, etc without a VPN. While I have a VPN, it's only turned on when I need it and therefore I'm thinking it's possible that these services are running in the background and causing my battery to drain in a matter of hours after a complete charge. Then again, this problem appeared only suddenly and I've been using my phone here for over a year now, so there's also a chance I'm wrong.

But if I'm not, is there any way I can disable the features related to Google? I know they can be found in my Active Apps, but after stopping them they just come back. If this is not really an option, then are there any other causes you guys see that could be related to my horrific battery life?

Any help would be much appreciated! I should note that I've already cleared the cache and the battery life is not improved even in airplane mode. Unfortunately my phone isn't rooted so I don't have access to calibration apps..

Yes it looks like your phone is hardly asleep but google services is low on the list.
If you are rooted you can use an app called wakelock detector to see what is keeping your device awake.
Then still if you are rooted get greenify to control those apps in question.
You can disable some google related apps but not all unless you are rooted.

Google services is low on the list, but Android System and Android OS are still related to google, right?

Suppose the problem isn't related to google..any ideas on what it could be?

No Android System and Android OS are not tied together with Google Services.
Basically anything else you do with your phone will make the percentage of Android OS and Android system higher in the battery stats, unless you are rooted and have wakelock detector and a wakelock terminator then and only then would you see better battery results. Also a receiver controller (Like Xposed module receiverstop) would keep apps from waking up whenever you do something on the phone.
