Post here if you have GOOD battery life

Turning off VZW location service (and I don't run social/news widgets just weather) brought my battery usage down to Droid X levels.

So far as I can tell, this phone is no more of a battery hog than any other.

I've lost 10% from full charge in 4.5hrs, with light usage.

My battery life meets my expectations. I am using the stock battery. Unplugged from full charge overnight at 8am and wasn't down to 60% until 7pm. That's 11 total hours including 4 hours of 'awake time'. Some browsing, texting, minimal calls, spent a half hour adding contacts (they couldn't sync them from my bb when I bought it Thursday), messing with other settings, etc.

About what I expected. Marked improvement over my Dinc with a Extended 1750 battery. With the 4G toggle I look for even more of an improvement.

I'm finding that if I don't have 4G coverage which is basically only in my house, my phone will die within 6 hours. When I turn off 4G and use wifi my phone will last a good 13-14hrs with moderate-heavy use.
Once the app developers come out with a toggle widget like the Evo has for toggling 3G and 4G, the battery will be amazing. :)

Mine is good until that battery saver thing kicks in. My phone's last 15% drains like nothing I've ever seen.

Odd I'm only on 3g and I've been unplugged for 16 hours and am at 46 remaining. This is with 1.7 hours of internet. 40 mins of Pandora and 20 min of angry birds.

Off charger at 730am. hit 4g area at 845am. used phone heavily from 930-3pm in 4g area. 945 now and have 50% battery left. Very impressed so far. did I mention how awesome 4g was?

Can someone explain the differences between the three location service selections? That would help in knowing which to have checked.

No complaints here. It is lasting longer than expected, especially given the amount of Angry Birds, Google Sky Map, and other assorted fun things that I have been wasting time with that I couldn't do on my BlackBerry.

I am using Wi-Fi for data at home... this has helped battery life a lot, since my 3G EVDO signal is terrible and my 1X signal for voice only works due to having the original Network Extender (femtocell) . Weak signals will kill the battery on any phone.

No 4G yet in Raleigh, but I hear it is coming. Looking forward to LTE and the high speeds and slightly improved coverage it should bring.

Honestly, LTE could help battery life in some cases... newer doesn't always mean power hog. If the phone spends less time syncing email and other data due to higher throughput, that might help battery life (or at least offset any negative aspects of running two wireless radios and a technology that might still need some optimization and tweaking).

Unless you know what it does (Google is for weather widget and gmail) then disable it. Best practice.

The battery life is better than I had expected. Honestly, I had expected a horrible battery life - like 6 hours or so, and was prepared to live with it, even bought the extended battery. But after bringing the screen brightness down and turning most of the auto-sync frequecies to "never", my battery goes down by less than 10% an hour with moderate use (without games, videos). The only high frequency sync I have is the emails - which I have set to every 5 minutes (on K-9 Mail). And this is on stock battery. Besides, whenever I am in my car, I keep my phone plugged in. My commutes are longer than an hour so that helps charge the phone.

I will be keeping the extended battery for emergencies.

I stay away from task killers or battery management apps. These apps actually drain more battery.

Today was my first "real" day with the Tbolt.

Screen set at 25% brightness, weather set to sync every few hours and nothing else is set to actively sync, save for gmail.

As of 12:40am, my phone has been unplugged for 14 hours 2 min. and I still have 25% battery left.

My usage today has been using 4G LTE only, no Wi-fi.

Activity included email, phone calls, txts, taking photographs, sending photographs, web browsing, some Guerilla Bob action, file transfers via bluetooth, file upload to picassa, and checking Twitter feed and Facebook.

I'm going to try and push it a little harder on Monday, but so far I'm less hesitant than I was the day I got it. I charged it last night while the phone was off. I'm going to try charging it with the phone on tonight and bump charge it in the morning. I tried to emulate my "normal" day using the phone and get a read on the batter from that rather then go off of a "play with my new toy" day.

I have a strong feeling this phone is going to get better with time. Also, I'm not finding a huge drain in power when using LTE. Always a strong signal.

Took the phone off the charger at noon. Now at 1:57am I am at 22% It is a weekend but i downloaded a few apps played a bit. Watched some streaming video, received a bunch of emails and texts and made a few calls.

Noob here, Im thinking the lower the display the better or is it opposite? Im asking because you stated that

(if I have my screen low and a lot of updating going on, or hotspot usage they would creep up and as a percentage my screen would go down... )

My display is at 86% when I check the battery stats. But my brightness is only at 25%. I got about 8 hours use without a extended battery so I think that's pretty good, was just wondering what's the difference between display percentage and brightness percentage.

The lower the display the less power it uses. What i mean is that when you look at what is using your power you will likely always see display at the top. It is a matter of percentage of power consumed, and a big screen will always register there. You mentioned that people showed that their display had a lower percentage of power used than yours. Since it is a percentage, a slice of 100% then any other use spiking especially with the screen off like hotspot would reduce the percentage shown for the display. .... The screen doesnt use less power, it just shows as less (lower percentage) of all the power that was used.

My phone is as good as my incredible. I have the screen to 100% everything the same. I use twitter and facebook and a few games. A little browsing and a little talk. The biggest thing i do, that i notice alot of people never do, is i manually power off the screen. Letting your phone sit in your pocket with the screen on is a waste and will really add up. I have a instant habit of pressing the power button once im done with an app. I also have auto wifi, it sets my wifi to only power on when im near a familiar network. Other than that, nothing special. The battery is good. Oh and btw this is my 3rd day with the TB and im only using a stock battery. When i get my 1600 it'll be even better.
