it's 7/11 and I still don't know anyone who's gotten the GB OTA. So do me a favor and post here when You get it so I'll know that it's actually rolling.

Nothing wrong with being excited about getting gingerbread for the phone. This will be my first phone to get the official gb update. Anyway I don't have the update yet, North Carolina. I've checked like 3 times already I can't wait.

You'll be notified via Push to quote Verizon Support on Twitter.

And if you want root you probably don't want to accept the OTA. XDA has a sticky in their forums about not using the RUU or the OTA if you want root.

I read one article claiming that the push will go out to handsets over a period of 7 days once available. So, no you may not get a push notification right away. Some people will probably get it before others.

A VZW rep said on Twitter the push is based on your phone's ID number, so it probably isn't regional...

Here too. It showed up when doing a manual check at 8:01 pm Pacific Time,
