Post OTA Battery Life Issue Under Investigation by HTC

Of what I've witnessed, there were some improvements, but not without a problem or two. Let me go over the issues: I have had two reboots, one immediately after the update Friday afternoon, and one not too long ago while having the device in the charger. That really needs to be addressed. This is happening for some more than others. Also, while I haven't seen this happen as much, I still see 3G disappearing and reappearing (I live in a non-4G LTE market). On the upside, it seems like the battery life for me was a bit better than it was before the update. Also, after messing with GPS Status, the GPS works better. Dunno if it's really fixed permanently or not, but it works fine now. So while the update isn't a total waste to me, the issues that I mentioned need to really be looked at and resolved ASAP.

I updated when it leaked a while back and battery life was the same, maybe a little better. Recently I went to a custom ROM with the updated included and I have amazing battery life. Under normal usage it last 2 full days.

One question: did pressing the Home captive button on your home screen always bring up the leap display? If it did before the update, maybe I just never noticed it.

Yup that was always a feature.

I, like another poster had 1 reboot a short while after the upgrade and then a random reboot while using the phone today. My battery got worse after the upgrade but after a bump charge it was right back to where it was or slightly better.

This data is kind of screwed up and meaningless to normal 4G people, but I wanted to pass this on.
I have no 4G at home or work, so I keep mine set to 3G only, CDMA auto (not CDMA+LTE). I keep WiFi on.
Yesterday, I received a Seidio 1600mahr slim battery. I also installed the update yesterday.
Today, I pulled the charge plug at 11am, at 92% charge. It is now, 10:30pm, at 67%. 25% drop in just under 12 hours, with normal use.
I don't know if it is the update, or the new battery, or both, but I'm happy. Hard to believe the battery helped THAT much.

I have been debating on getting that battery, sounds like it might be worth it. Keep us updated.

May I ask where did you buy it from?

My Battery life is much better after OTA! I actually got 13 hrs with 25% left when I got off work before putting it in the car mount, and using Navigation it went right to it, no searching for GPS!! No reboots have happened to me. I am happy with the update! Sorry others are having problems :(

I just made my first 24hrs after the update. Straight stock. Too soon to tell if this means those days with 6hrs of battery life are over. They only happened sporadically and a reboot usually helped. Only time will tell, but fingers crossed.

My GPS is better, actually used it to find my way to my job assignment this weekend, where as before I would never get a lock. haven't seen much in the light of battery though I had 4G this morning (ATL airport) and in about an hour I went form half a battery to dead. I did see that my proximity sensor isnt working quite right (screen flickers on and off as I am talking on the phone) and on 3G I am not getting great signal.

I'm roughly 24 hours after the update also, and my battery life is worse. I bump charged it this am and will do it again tomorrow and see if it's better. I've also had three random reboots today that I've caught.

The update definitely screwed stuff up. My phone is freezing, battery is dying quicker and i get random reboots.

Hey everyone. I would hate to state the obvious but the random reboots and battery issues are probably totally be related. I bet every reboot drains the battery by 5-7%. What do you think?

I realized that after the update, my proximity sensor is not permanently on anymore. I haven't had any reboots and believe that I get slightly better battery life. But again, I might be just making that up as wishful thinking... I should have a better idea over the weekend as during the week I keep my phone on my old Blackberry storm2 charger cradle/pod at work which is plugged in to the wall using the HTC adapter (1Ah vs 700 mAh output on BB chargers). It is not perfect but does the job.

Completely stock and update just made it cook. Closed off after ota, recharged off after reboot fully . Battery life better, GPS lock faster, things just seam to work smoother. Never had reboot prob. You guys kill me.:D

I've been powdered up scene 8:00 am still 40% battery live. This is kicking a** for moderate use. So can we here from those of you you are just enjoying the s**t out of their device. This thing will even make phone calls too.:p

You do realize that you only get half the current when you charge through your computer than if you charged off the wall. So it will take you twice as long to charge your battery from your computer than from your wall outlet. Just FYI.

Yup I am aware of that. But I also charge it on the same computer using the same cable in the same USB port every work day. That's how I know something strange is going on with it.
