Post some tricks you have found with the LTE

Since I received my EVO, I was reviewing how the battery was being used and was consistently seeing "Maps" showing up on the list with high battery usage percentages. I found it odd since i wasn't using Google maps at all. Also, it wasn't consistent. Some days it would be an issue, some days not.

I finally figured out that I was leaving GPS on indoors and it was constantly searching for a GPS lock. Once turning this off, no more issues.

This did lead to another "issue". Tasker can no longer directly control GPS toggles. I assume this is an ICS limitation. In GB, it would take me to the screen, but it would toggle the GPS on and off also.

New to this forum so hello everyone, learned a lot of things today about my phone so I thank you all. Love the fact that you can turn up your volume now without having to unlock the phone. I have had my LTE for about the weeks and loving it, I had the old EVO 4g and only complaint I had with that one was the battery, but what else is new right :p
Also great thing too that us nice is them smilies you don't have to add the - the :) in a text for the happy face to pop up. Kinda goofy I know but I like that feature.
Again thanks for the great posts enjoyed learning about things today :)

Lots of apps use location so you may not be using maps directly, but other apps are using maps to provide location information. It seems the GPS function can't be separated from the Maps app.

I do too! Used to annoy the crap out of me having to unlock the screen every time I wanted to change the volume. Now if they could just fix the lock screen so there are not TWO screens when you want security...

I dont know if anyone mentioned this yet, but you can pinch to zoom in the stock messaging app

Anyone know how to turn off the keyboard notification icon that pops up top whenever your using it?

I dont think you can turn it off. I think thats the new way of selecting the different keyboards in ICS or it may just be HTC's implementation

I have this problem without a screen protector or case :(
Best buy replaced my EVO LTE because Proximity sensor wasn't working properly, new one is rocking now...no issues.. I have an screen protectors covering the sensors, still working with no issues since I bought Clear Screen protector..

The phone has been an incredible upgrade over my OG Evo. I have really enjoyed learning the new things about the device. One of the coolest features i discovered today was the ability to go to the next message in Gmail by swiping to the left or right while in a message. I m disappointed that this same task is not as easy in the mail app. The OG had up and down buttons to go to the next message. Now I have to back up into the message list to select the next message. Doesn't seem right. Am i missing something?

Also can Google please fix the Google prepaid card register error I've been dealing with for a week? I've updated, cleared data, and attempted to register that card for a week to no avail.

how do you do this??? I can only put 4

You can group apps by dropping them onto each other which creates "folders" of apps, each of which can hold 4 visible and even more non-visible. So you can have 16 visible on the bar with even more non-visible.

Err...do folders on the dock bar have an app-limitation that regular folders do not? Because they can hold way more than 4 apps each.

Nope you can add more take a look at my pic

can't seem to get this working on my logitech revue, makes sense though seeing as how badly logitech dropped the balls on their opportunity.

You are correct, I was just repeating what someone else said in another thread. I revised the posting above. What was meant was you could have 4x4 *visible*, but there can be 16 in each folder. So the total limit is 4x16 = 64.
