Post some tricks you have found with the LTE

You are correct, I was just repeating what someone else said in another thread. I revised the posting above. What was meant was you could have 4x4 *visible*, but there is really no limit to how many non-visible.

Folders are actually limited to 16 apps. I understand the need for a limit, but at the same time wish there wasn't one.

Is there a fix for 16 max number of shortcuts in folder in any of rooted roms?
Or is it a HTC issue or ics?

Using a 2 finger screen scroll in native apps such as messages or pictures will sort by date.

Three finger gestures: Swipe 3 fingers to the right on just about any screen and by default it will pull up "Media Link HD setup". Swipe to the top and it does the same thing. Left and Down are defaulted to nothing. Under Settings > Display & gestures there is an option to turn on or off HTC gestures (enable 3-finger output gestures and ignore gestures with more fingers). Haven't figured out how to customize 3 finger gestures to other options but hopefully there's a way you can personalize it. I'd love to be able to toggle wifi or bluetooth that way.

Be nice if we could change the 3 finger gesture to start voice search... It would help with the missing hardware search button many of us miss.

I believe it's a feature. Or really just an imposed limitation. Any more apps and you'd need to scroll which cuts down on convenience.

I understand that some people do but i can't imagine the need for more than 16 per folder.

Hell, i dont even use folders cuz the clutter drives me nuts.

Isn't that the point of using folders? To reduce clutter?

Not reallya trick, more of a limitation, but you can only have 6 browser tabs at once

When swiping left/right through the recent apps you can swipe up to kill an app. Just like the old WebOS "throw the card away" feature. Much easier than going into settings to kill and app.

This doesn't REALLY kill the app...just removes it from your multitasking area.

Go to task manager and you will see it is indeed still running.

Just noticed this, using HTC's screenshot method (Power button and down volume) you get a MUCH higher quality screenshot than using ICS's method.

It does really kill the app....sometimes. I tested on the FB app and throwing the card away does indeed remove it from the task manager list. Likewise, fire up your navigation app then look at the task manager and you will see google maps at around 75 mb and the navigation icon will still display in the notification area. Then toss it away in the recent apps screen and the notification will disappear and the maps will drop down to 7-8 mb in the task manager.

But throwing away mail, maps, messages or any other app that is normally running in the background doesn't seem to kill it (unless it restarts really quickly).

Touche. Just tried it with Yelp and it indeed cauesd the app to restart.

Guess Maps is what i was always focusing on (since i try to close maps after i'm done since it loves using up a battery.)

I think that's more because sense kills pretty much everything other than the foreground task.

I read somewhere that this phone supports a 64gb card! I haven't tried it. I'm far from filling up the 16gb I now use! But great tips here...

It does, and there's been some recent $50-60 deals on 64GB cards, there'll probably be more by year's end (right now they sell for $75+ regularly). 32GB cards are $30 at most tho, often $20-25 for class 6 cards. I've got like two or three 32GB cards (tablet, phone, keychain reader), probably gonna hold out for some of the new UHS-I cards that are like 8x as fast as any class 6/10 card. (they're basically as fast as a low end laptop hard drive at that point) They'll also work on the EVO LTE.
