Post some tricks you have found with the LTE

Isn't that the point of using folders? To reduce clutter?

Well yes and no...

While folders will reduce the initial screen clutter it also adds clutter and steps while looking for a specific app.

I just like keeping my screens very basic and the rest of the apps in the drawer (in abc order :))

I like the folders, although is one extra step it does beat scrolling down to find what you are looking for.

My folders are name good for me. Google apps, movies and music, games and tools. examples of movies and music are ask my apps related to music plus the music players and Netflix.

Anyways, does anyone know how to rename songs in your phone? I downloaded a few songs but they came down as 1 2 and I don't want to plug my phone to the PC. Thanks.

And NEwgurlz hooks another one. I would love to know how many people sat around shaking their phone. Hate to admit it but I tried it. And had a good laugh when I realized I fell for it.

In the lock screen shake your phone...the flash light will come on... shake it again to turn it off

Oh man, I fell for this one. Good thing I did it while at the gym. I looked like I was shaking off a muscle spasm instead of looking like a tool. Well played sir... Well played.
:p

I haven't seen where anybody has mentioned this yet -- RE 1) loss of menu button and 2) the new recent apps button. Check this out: goto settings, display gestures & buttons, recent apps button. You can select "press for menu - press and hold for recent apps."
A single touch functions as the 'lost' menu button on the OG EVO. A 'press and hold' functions pretty much the same as press and hold on the home button on the OG EVO.

That's because it's been covered extensively in the update thread.

after messing around with both screenshot options, i decided i like the power+volume method because it puts them in a separate folder in the gallery called "screenshots" where the power+home method just puts them in with all the other camera shots you've taken. i prefer the screenshots be separate. easier to find.

I just tried both and realized this true. Weird. The volume way is a little slower, but I prefer the organization.

Plus "power+volume" capture higher res shot

Ok I just took both style of screen shots, both are listed as 720x1280 in the details, so how is the power + volume a higher resolution??

On taking pictures of screen with power and home buttons:

1. Power plus volume does not work on my HTC EVO LTC. No problem, the issue is;

2. When I try to post the picture to google+ it is nasty resolution and can't be read. (I actually took picture of thus thread to share the information on my public stream. You can see the result: +Robert Brantley)

Thanks in advance for help on this.

I don't think it is higher resolution, I think you just weren't holding the phone steady while doing the "power+home" method so the picture turned out a little blurry.

Power + Volume down does work on all our phones. You need to press & hold both simultaneously for about 2-3 seconds. Picture will show up in an individual folder labeled "Screenshots" and show up in your notification bar for review.

As for the pictures being posted on google+, I haven't a clue what's happening. Might be an automatic resize issue happening.

Power and volume is common to most of not all ics phones considering its a feature Google added why would it not be in the e4glte.

OK... After the key part of "holding for about 2-3 seconds" screenshots work flawlessly. Thanks.

I sent a ??? to Google + folks from the interface on my mobile device and maybe they will get back with me on the issue of the image coming up oddly. I did do four tests of different images... two came up odd and 2 came up fine... Best I can think is that the 3G network I was riding on was a bit shielded and not so great... maybe it disrupted the transfer and caused the loss in quality.

Thanks for your support.

:)
