Just looking for suggestions one the coolest apps out there. Not just for me, but for everyone on this website to enjoy.

I know I learn about a very cool new app every time I visit these forums, so I thought... why not just ask people about really cool and unique apps for Evo?

My cool apps?

I think my DirecTV app is awesome. I love being able to control my DVR from anywhere. I also really like MP3 download, an app that allows the user to search for songs on different servers and download them.

Multicon widget.. having 4 apps in one slot as opposed to one saves alot of space.

Tikl Touch beta is a favorite around my group of friends.. most of them dont know how to turn off the program and hearing DINGDONG at 3am is always fun.. plus its quicker then texting and better then phone calls.

Battery indicator is worth it and also a fan of the app brain app market

Got to be swype(replacement keyboard), launcherpro(replacement launcher), websharing(connects your device toa cpu over wifi), beautiful widget(skinable clock and weather widget) and lookout(anti virus and backup).

Just to name a few.

Battery Status Pro is really great. Unlike most battery apps I've found, this one keeps the battery percentage visible in the notification bar.

Bump is another favorite, since I can share apps and stuff with the other android-carrying members of my family.

Pingchat! Similar to Blackberry Messenger (though not as powerful) and offers group chat!

The point is to get applications that evo owners use. Not android owners in general, obviously.

There is fragmentation on the android platform, and not all applications work equally on all devices.

No, you can find it pretty easily if you just search the web for it. Try to track down version 1.61.etc, that is the latest build.

It's not on the market, but a google search for swype will lead you to a site with download and install instructions.

I have a whole swype guide in these forums, just sayin.

I use youtube ripper (rip yt vids)
Wordfued (scrabble)
And chrome to phone alot.

Try SlideIT for a replacement to swipe. Of course, a temporary replacement. Swipe is better.

Also, swiftkey is awesome. And I cannot wait for blindtype to come out.
