We had days of -40 degrees last winter... Yes, that is negative 40 degrees!! I can do without winter if it is going to be like that again!!

spit happens. is it always like that in the winter there?

No, it's not... thankfully. But since it is not normal, it basically shut down the entire northern part of the state. They didn't want people on the roads unless it was an emergency, businesses shut down it was nuts.
And just for fun, our furnace froze (died) so with those temperatures and no heater we were not happy campers but we were happy to be able to stay in a hotel until it got replaced
