Recently had dinner at the RH Rooftop Restaurant in Palo Alto -- "RH" stands for Restoration Hardware, which went through a major rebranding to become even more high end. The restaurant was beautiful, and the food was excellent!

Some pieces from the Santa Barbara Museum of Art:
These are from guardian statues stationed in front of a Buddhist temple. The mouths are going "ah" on the right (the Japanese sound for the beginning of the alphabet), and "mm" on the left (the Japanese sound for the end of the alphabet). Read right to left, it's "ahmm", which is kind of like saying it's the A to Z or alpha to omega, signifying the infinite ream of the Buddha.
I just thought this bodhisattva looks super-mellow to the max.

1st-2nd century CE Roman statue of a flute player (the flute obviously went missing some time ago). I thought this figure looks so elegant.

We ate at the new Din Tai Fung in Santa Monica Place (famous for its xiaolongbao, aka soup dumplings). I caught this optical illusion -- no, the top of the building is not transparent!
Amazing sunset colors taken from that Din Tai Fung.
I'm about to be abducted by that UFO shining its searchlights in the distance.
