I'm still working with mine. I've rooted, no custom ROM or anything because I'm not so sure I really want to do that yet.

Its the vanilla lock screen. I'm using CM 7 rom but I believe there is an app that will let you use a slider style lock screen. Can't remember what it is called

Edit: The app you could try is widget locker. It isn't free, like $2

No you don't have to be rooted (all depending on what kind of android device you're sporting).

@jaunty2g... First, welcome to AC!!! And to elaborate on cmorty72's answer to your question...

Look into some 3rd party launcher apps like GoLauncher, ADW, ZeamLauncher or LauncherPro. All of them let you choose different docks and what apps and how many are on
them.

Basically 3rd party launchers are like say for me(I have an EVO) Sense a overlay that different manufactures have put over "Vanilla Android" to make there phones stand out from other android powered phones from other manufactures.

One word on 3rd party launchers... not sure what phone you have but on the EVO you can't use any of the Sense widgets.

The phone may or may not be rooted... I say this cause of the font his clock is using. That clock widget looks like Clockr on the market. The you can change the font on the payer version. On the flip side... if that phone is rooted, he changed the system font... and that will changed the font to the whole phone. You can do that with flashable zip files. But you have to be rooted.

Look around the forums and the market... you'll beable to find what your looking for.

Now...... to piggy back a little..... here's my setup.

If you are wondering the name of the clock, its clockr (donation version).
Launcher is ADW Launcher EX.
Dock is from Launcher Pro Icons
