I wish it were exciting. They are train car numbers for when I pick up my wife at the train station. It's so I know when to get her depending on which train she got on. Waaa-Waaaa. (I forgot to get her once. It wasn't pretty.) I'm a software engineer, but that isn't reflected on those dates.

If it's not on my calendar, I probably won't do it. Goog keeps me on track.

Example: tried to download the compass app. Downloaded 2 different ones, and couldn't get either to work, so I deleted them.

Did you calibrate your phone?

• Start the app
• Hold phone straight out in front of you
• Wave your hand in a big infinity-symbol (sideways-8) path
  • Lower left
  • upper left
  • lower right
  • upper right
  • repeat

Trace this path 5 or 6 times. You'll feel a little silly, but it works.
That should calibrate it so now the phone can pick up the magnetic field differences enough for the compass to work.

Yes, I tried to calibrate the phone in the method you suggest to no avail.
I have read it works, but not for me it seems.
