Potential Switch from Iphone 4S to S3?

Hi all,

I have an iphone 4s, with data on AT&T and I tried swapping the sim card to a galaxy S II Skyrocket LTE (AT&T) and the data didn't work. (used micro sim to sim adapter)

calls worked fine on the SII but data did not work at all, no 3G, no 2G, no LTE, no HSPA.

Anyone know if I can swap the sim from the 4S to another phone and get data? Perhaps another phone other then the galaxy sII skyrocket? I want to be able to do it without changing the plan with AT&T.

Incorrect. Went from an iPhone 4 to a One X and didn't get a new sim card. A micro sim card from ATT will work in any other ATT phone with the corresponding sim tray.

This is also incorrect, it must be an lte sim. They work in 3g phones. 3g Sims do not work in lte phones.

You need an lte sim then you can swap between the two. The lte Sims can go backwards but 3g Sims can't go forward

actually i sell these phones for a living and they both take micro sim cards, and they're also both the same sim.

Guys i am in the same boat but will be usin a family members upgrade (grandma) she has my 3gs i got the 4s she gets my old iphone still great phone she understands how to use the iphone. Just tired of apple seems like everybody has the exact same phone just different apps and pics , i jail broke it but returned to stock *been jailbroke since october of last year to now*. So once i can safe up $300 (case included) i can get the phone my question is i know we have to swap data plans i am not sure how the 4s sim will work with the s3 with the correct data plan. Will i still get LTE with the new data plan.

Or can they switch numbers between the sim cards?

So let me know if i am on the right track. Really want the S3: been messing with the store version and browsing the forms cant wait to switch and my grandparent understands about it.
