Power button acting strange ( after not working at all for 1 day )

So, yesterday, i tried to apply that protection screen foil named Alien Surface. You must spray a substance on it before you apply. And i think that this substance got into my power button.. or something like that. Yesterday the button was unresponsive. However, today, the button works ( i mean everytime i press it, something happens. ) but it acts really strange. I press it shortly and it reacts like i would press it long ( press and hold ). Sometimes it shuts down the screen, and then turn it back on without me pressing a second time. It seems that even if i touch it a little ( without pressing it ) the screen goes on and off, like rubbing it or something. What it could be?

I watched a YouTube video of the application of that protector. Unfortunately it was in a language I could not understand, so I'm uncertain of the liquid used. It may be worth contacting the manufacturer for advice.
