So I've had my TB since release day, and have loved it every day since. I've rooted it, rommed it, and can go two days between charges. Love its size and functionality. But yesterday I realized by beloved has encountered a critical issue.
After being lazy an not plugging in my phone two nights ago to charge and let the battery die, I finally get around to getting it charged and turned back on. Normally not a big deal other than having to remove the battery after charging to get the phone to power up, but this time it just wasn't powering up at all. I charged it until the LED shined green, but still nothing. After noticing that the power button was feeling mushier than usual, I surmised that the power button has been physically damaged and no longer makes good contact. After fiddling with it on and off for three hours, I finally got the phone to boot and runs. Luckily, the flavor of BAMF I am running will allow me to wake the phone from the volume rocker so it isn't too big of an issue while the phone stays powered up.
So, it is a little less than a year old and I've got the monthly coverage from Verizon for Assurion. Is this an issue that can be fixed by taking into a VZW store for repair, or at worst they exchange for another device? I would really prefer not to have too file a claim with Assurion and pay the $100(+?) deductible...
My upgrade is in six days, but I love my phone so much that I am not really sold on the Galaxy Nexus and would like to see my TB live on for a while longer.
