My power button bit the bullet the other day and Verizon will be sending me a replacement. It seems to be engaged all the time because if I pull the battery and put it back in, the phone will turn on automatically. What is the best way to unroot and get S-On? I rooted using the old method, not revolutionary.

I have only rooted once and I used Revolutionary, so please disregard if this is incorrect: Cyber Warrior's guide to rooting/unrooting says that even if you did not use Revolutionary to root, you can use his guide to remove the permanent hboot. See his guide here: http://forums.androidcentral.com/th...ot-thunderbolt-revolutionary.html#post1649884

Side note - I had the same power button issue, but I was still fully stock when I returned it.

I used the older method where you had to downgrade the firmware to take an advantage of an exploit before revolutionary was around. Does this mean I can possibly just flash an RUU?

it won't work because revo doesn't allow any ruu's to overwrite the hboot. I've tried it before, revo keeps you with S-Off.

Ok, sounds good. Would there ever be a situation where I need to hit the power button to do something?

as long as you can get into recovery using adb. Or using the current rom you shouldn't need to use the power button

Ok, someone on thunderbolt forums said I will need to flash something else to get S-On after I flash the RUU. Is this correct? Also, the RUU is just flashed by renaming it to that PG05 filename, correct?
