Power button on Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 in unresponsive.

I don't know why this happened; it just happened out of no where. The power button doesn't respond so I can't turn the tablet off or restart or activate the lock. What I do is set the display to turn off after 30 seconds for now.

Is there a way to fix this?

It maybe that the switch beneath the button has failed. If so, that would be repairable I imagine.
