I go through a power cord about every 5 months.
The connection at the cord seems to not fit well.

Anything about how you typically use the tablet that might explain why, especially in terms of how it's positioned when it's plugged in? Is there a lot of torque or tension on the plug where it connects?

Well yes there is, but I would think not enough torque.
I guess that is it.
Thanks

If you ever took apart a cable (or had one fall apart on you), you can see how the construction could be fairly delicate. The actual connection between the wires inside the cable and the connector plug can be disrupted with repeated bending/flexing at that junction. I've had it happen a few times.

USB cables can be prone to going bad, especially if it's a micro-USB cable. If you want to try something else, I've found the Volutz brand to be extremely long lasting compared to most others. You can find them on Amazon.

Yeap. They fail a lot even if you try to be gentle... doesn't take much. One good accidently pull can do it.

You can try reinforcing the cable right at the connector to the connector with some self adhering high grade non-sticky electrical tape and/or a small piece/diameter of split loom tubing tie wrapped to the connector.
If you can spread out the bend strain it can help a lot.
Always pull on only the plug never the cable to disconnect, duh... some people do that:(

Good cable assemblies use better strain relief, generally.
Some real high dollar ones last no longer than a cheap one; pretty doesn't mean good design/quality.

I just ordered the HOUPU 6ft Micro USB Cable - Nylon Braided from Amazon.
