Good news: Just got my SGS3!
Bad news: Gotta get it activated!

Since I am an existing Sprint customer (upgraded from an Evo 4G) I can either, a) go to my Sprint Store and have them activate it or, b) activate it via sprint.com/activate. My question is this, how many of you have activated your SGS3 via Sprint's website? Was it just as easy as it seems? Any issues with service afterwards or, was it all good? Did it take long?

The reason I ask is because I'm currently charging my phone and would like to activate it before the end of my work day - got a party to go to and I really want to show it off!

We got our phone from Sprint via UPS. I tried activiating via the website and it wanted to change my plan. I then clicked on chat and ended up using that and it was relatively painless.

I had this same issue.

I ended up activating via Sprint's website. It was pretty easy. It did "force" me to pick a new plan, but I just (re-)picked the same plan I had before (Everything Data 450 for $69.99). (I am hoping that Sprint realizes I did not want to change/upgrade my plan).

When I finally turned on the phone, it started walking me though the activation process (but I had already changed phones on their website). I ended up canceling out of the activation process on the phone, and doing all the other set-up stuff (Google account sync, Dropbox, etc.).

In the end, I got my phone activated just fine. I didn't even have to do any ##786# or enter an MSN or anything.

Call sprint and they can activate it over the phone. You will have to be on a phone other than the one you are activating or deactivating. A land line would be perfect. Both of the phones will have to be turned off. CSR will ask you to turn on your new phone to test it after activation.
